After the attempt at "crossing
the Channel by balloon pedal" in September 2008, the association
Endlessflyers and its president Stephane Rousson inform you of their
next adventure attend the 11th International Stroke submarine
propulsion muscle, which held in June 2011 in the USA in Maryland,
in a database of the U.S. Navy.
This academic competition, unknown to Europe (only English and the
Netherlands were represented once), brings together some big U.S.
universities. The goal: to win one of two competitions, namely the
handling of race craft, or the speed.
Currently Canadians are leading in both disciplines.
The association Endlessflyers was surrounded by students and
engineers Toulon's aim this 1st participation, to win the race in
category "handling", while keeping good hope of correctly classified
in class "speed".
The Scubster was born thanks to our experience in propulsion and
muscular buoyancy ( "crossing the Channel in a balloon-powered
muscle" www.rousson.org) on the one hand, and through participation
and involvement Schools Supmeca Toulon, Toulon ISITV. From small
local businesses support the project and we as sponsors prestigious
Mr Delauze, CEO of Comex, Gerard Feldzer, president of the Museum of
Air and Space.
To date, the submarine Scubster is underway and is being studied
hydrodynamic, mechanical. The first full-scale tests at sea in the
Mediterranean will take place as early as June 2010.
You follow the entire history of the project from conception to
completion, and will witness various stages of testing by visiting
web www.scubster.org.
In the future, Scubster could be developed for commercial use, for
diving clubs and individuals, two-seater, with a muscular or
electric propulsion.
Technology Objective:
Speed exceeding: 6.21miles
Optimized handling: lower back, right-left, climb-down, taken
implications, area navigation.
Interest of submarine pedals:
- Speed above the diver webbed
- Carriage of extra bottles of giving more autonomy underwater.
- Navigation area to reach a place of exploration.
The combination of three elements make Scubster a tool for exploring
device for divers and scientists from around Oceanography
