Aerosail

Stephane Rousson’s new blimp called “Aerosail”, uses the wind to be propelled. It is a genuine sailing ship of the air, a 100% green flight who respects the sea and gives to the pilot a fantastic feeling, a new dimension of air piloting: the “aero-maritime flight”, perfect combination between the air piloting of a flying machine and the navigation of a sailing ship.

The combined experience of Stephane as a pilot and a navigator enables him to have the machine fly. He uses the technology of the “Chien de Mer” conceived by Didier Costes, a polytechnicien engineer. The “Chien de Mer” is a curved carbon foil which will be under the water’s surface. It is linked to the balloon’s car by a long cable whose length can be adjusted from 65 ft 6 inches to 164 ft (20m to 50 m) and which acts as a centreboard. Stephane tested it and adjusted it. He also adjusted the piloting from the blimp
